Cascade Clamps - Cascade Manufacturing Company was established in Portland, Oregon in the year 1943. They started out as a small machine shop at first employing 4 people. Product sales for their first year of operation amounted to about $60,000. The very first recorded sales revenues involved the machining and assembly of stainless steel valves, pipe fittings and various parts. During 5 years of operation, the company had expanded to 40 employees and their yearly sales volume had risen to three hundred thirty thousand dollars. Now, Cascade is amongst the leading global producers in the material handling business.
Production and design of the company's initial hydraulic cylinder paved the way in Cascade's aggressive pursuit of new business possibilities. During the last sixty years, the material handling business has grown into a very complex field and Cascade has proudly performed a part in this progress. Cascade at present continues to develop as the best provider of forklift accessories and numerous related items. The business feels confident in their skill so as to continue to lead the way within the business by understanding customer's needs in the future and remaining competitive in the world market.
All through the nineteen fifties, Cascade began to make, design, and promote its hydraulic accessories. A new facility was constructed in the year 1956, to house all the plant operations and offices in Portland, Oregon, which is still the company's present head office. Subsequent to fifteen years of business, total workers reached one hundred eighty workers and sales had reached almost two million three hundred thousand dollars.
A second production plant was built in 1959 in Springfield, Ohio. nineteen sixty marked Cascade's preliminary move into the global world of the material handling industry as the company recognized interest in Australia, the Netherlands and England.
In the year 1964, the business changed its name to the Cascade Corporation. Then in the year 1965, the business went public with an initial offering of 200,000 shares of common stock. Since then the company has expanded its manufacturing services throughout the continental USA to the locations Warner Robins Georgia to go along with its already existing plants in Portland, Oregon and Springfield, Ohio. Cascade products are made globally due to many subsidiary operations. In the year 1944, a brand new plant was accomplished in Almere, the Netherlands which is Cascade's European headquarters. This plant is designed to be the essential customer service centre.
Continuing to grow, Cascade expanded their product offering further in the year 1996 and the year 1997 with the impressive acquisition of five firms, along with the global best in forks, the Kenhar Corporation.
